Another piece I purchased at a glass art auction. The funds went towards a glass studio for Fort Worth.

Our latest pet adoption was at Sonic Saturday night 6-9pm at a classic car show. We has about 5 dogs adopted and 2 went into foster care. Well Rick and I walked around to admire the cars and found one that was lowered to the ground by air and pieced together. Kinda cool looking. Someone’s very own one of a kind vehicle.
Southlake had an ART IN THE SQUARE event this past weekend that seemed to be larger than Main Street Art Festival in Fort Worth. Rick and I walked the first row and had already seen 4 things we wanted to buy. But we held back until we walked the entire event. Then in the end we went back to those booths. Rick bought a photograph with a black background and a bright, beautiful bird of paradise on it. Georgous! I bought a very large painting of high heels and a wine glass with sparkles on it. (www.artbypj.com) It’s now in my hallway and is awesome. The picture does nothing to show it off. Before our art purchases we sat down at the stage to listen to some good ol’ music. Then we got up to swing dance while my nachos got cold. It was fun and such good weather….even with the occasional sprinkles of rain.

We had seen her art last year but everything was a large art piece at about $4K. This year she offered some
smaller pieces more within something
On the way home from training class last night Rango had his head out the car window. Usually with that head there is a leg. And with that head and leg is a slobbery tongue slinging goo all over other people’s windshields. SPREAD THE LOVE! By the way we are making improvements…but he is the most stubborn in the class.
So Rick went home from work early yesterday to play with his baby goats. Seems the little boy (Zoolo) has no problem knowing where to get the milk but the little girl (Zarina) can't seem to
figure it out. So Rick has to go check on her and help her feed several times a day. They are both super adorable. Can't wait to get back and cuddle on them. .... Some how momma got locked out of the pen from her babies last night...which is strange since Rick and I made sure they were locked in together before we went to bed. She was ready to get back with her babies when the gate opened. Picture 1 : Zarina (front), Zoolo (back)
While at work yesterday Rick got a phone call. One of his female boar goats (Savannah) had babies. One girl and one boy. The girl as the brown on top of her head and at the base of her neck on the back (she is the runt). The boy has white at the top of his head and brown down his cheeks and around his eyes. SO CUTE! They are all stocky little legs with small bodies and little heads. They
try standing and walking but they are still unstable. So very adorable! I held the girl yesterday and she screamed for a sec then stopped and cuddled in. They are so soft and fun to watch. Mom is doing well with us trying to help the babies feed. They seem to have a hard time
finding the nipple then sucking. Mom has never really came near us much, she would only allow us to touch her head and neck while she was feeding. So she is a bit freaked when we enter the pen and hang out, but over all she is doing
well. In a few days they should be jumping around and be a blast to watch. They both have mom’s long floppy ears (pictured below……. Which those in themselves are a blast to watch, in the wind. Well, we are naming the girl Zarina and maybe
the boy Zolo (not sure yet). The boy was good for picture taking and is the one in both close ups; the girl would not turn around. I will try to get more of her. Stay tuned for videos of these two playing as they grow. You are more than welcome to come see them sometime and the donkeys, just give us a call.
WOW! What a weekend. Main Street Arts Festival was in town and Rick and I spent about 4 wonderful hours walking through artist's booths looking at paintings and photographs and hand woven metal, fused glass work and hot blown glass work. What a wonderful way to spend the day. There is such talent that comes to these shows. This event is ranked top of all art shows in the nation. Shouldn’t be missed. Rick and I bought these glass blown torsos that are so cool. The picture is of the one he bought. Solid amber colored glass on a bass. Mine is at least twice that size. Hollow and shaped from the inside and the outside. Close to the same color. I forgot to snap an image of mine when I unpacked it. I will post one soon though. Below are other cool things that were at the event, just had to be added for sharing. Saturday night Rick and I went to Vitro 2 Moda by SiNaCa Studios
(http://www.sinacastudios.org ) for a Live Auction, Art Glass Sale and Glass Fashion Runway Show. They literally had a runway with glass art pieces that models walked down the aisle. Cool yet funny. Rick was live bidding on a unique under water scene lamp that was metal rods and leaves with fused glass bubbles and a light shining through it. Very Awesome. Maybe able to see some of the art on their site. He stopped bidding at $825. All the items for the live and silent auction were way under priced. That piece should have sold for $4000. It was worth way more than $825. Oh Well, great deal for that guy. I won a silent auction on a glass blown fish in a plant (like Nemo) for $300, again great deal. The glass and labor alone are more than that. Of course I didn’t get a picture of this one either so I will post it later as well.

Sunday was so gorgeous that even Serano was sunning in the wild flowers. Such a well deserved beautiful day after the few days of cold, cloudy rainy and drizzly we have endured. I am so ready for the sun and heat of the Spring/Summer. I am craving the sizzle on my skin when then sun beats down on it.BRING ON THE HEAT AND SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!
So for the next of many art projects Rick wants to mosaic woman’s torsos'. He purchased two plastic (one pregnant) torsos online and they have just arrived. Next we will cut glass to glue on the torso
s. Rick is considering turning the white one into a lamp since it is so translucent. It will be very cool when finished… and look something like the image attached. Keep posted for the finish project…but don’t expect it to be too soon. This could take some time.
For Jamie and Dale's congratulations on their new baby girl our work group pulled together funds and purchased a hand painted pop art print of Dale and Jamie holding their baby girl. Courtney (the artist) was able to take a good picture of Dale and Jamie and photo shop in the perfect picture of Kinley, then handpainted it on canvas. The background color is metallic sage-line green and the people outlines are painted in purple. Courtney is good and quick. I am attaching her Photobucket link so you can see more examples of what she can do. Pretty Awesome! Rick and I are planning to have some made with us in them (of course). Check out Courtney's work: .... http://s618.photobucket.com/albums/tt261/CourtneysPopArt/
Well, Rick loves it and I have had a few compliments at work. It's so natural, the guys at work just walk by and say nothing. Like I don't look completely different. So Rick just walked down the hall and told everyone (guys) to come look at my new hair. I feel like a caged animal everyone is looking at. So finally I had to stand up. So far nobody has told me I look bad.
Titania and I meet up with Becky, Cherish and Sarah and their dogs at a dog festival this Saturday at the Fort Woof Dog Park. Titania did so well, as I knew she would. Becky, Millie, Titania and I stood in line for about 2 hours waiting to get our caricatures done. It was worth it they turned out great. I loved looking at all the dogs and breeds, so much fun. There were itty bitty Yorkies there all the way to monster sized Great Danes and Mastiffs. We are hosting a similar event to this in the summer; it was a great place to get ideas. We are definitely inviting the caricaturist.
