While at work yesterday Rick got a phone call. One of his female boar goats (Savannah) had babies. One girl and one boy. The girl as the brown on top of her head and at the base of her neck on the back (she is the runt). The boy has white at the top of his head and brown down his cheeks and around his eyes. SO CUTE! They are all stocky little legs with small bodies and little heads. They try standing and walking but they are still unstable. So very adorable! I held the girl yesterday and she screamed for a sec then stopped and cuddled in. They are so soft and fun to watch. Mom is doing well with us trying to help the babies feed. They seem to have a hard time finding the nipple then sucking. Mom has never really came near us much, she would only allow us to touch her head and neck while she was feeding. So she is a bit freaked when we enter the pen and hang out, but over all she is doing well. In a few days they should be jumping around and be a blast to watch. They both have mom’s long floppy ears (pictured below……. Which those in themselves are a blast to watch, in the wind. Well, we are naming the girl Zarina and maybe the boy Zolo (not sure yet). The boy was good for picture taking and is the one in both close ups; the girl would not turn around. I will try to get more of her. Stay tuned for videos of these two playing as they grow. You are more than welcome to come see them sometime and the donkeys, just give us a call.
I graduated from Texas A&M in 2004 and have been living, playing and working in Fort Worth, TX ever since. I am dating a very handsome man that is in a lot of the picture in this blog. He and I do lots of random art related crafts and take dance lessons. We have a blast together. The rest of my free time is spent volunteering with an animal league were I foster dogs until a permanent home can be found. I keep very buys and very chaotic but I am having fun.... Be sure to leave me comments on my blogs so I know what you are thinking.... LATER!
