ART FILLED WEEKEND

WOW! What a weekend. Main Street Arts Festival was in town and Rick and I spent about 4 wonderful hours walking through artist's booths looking at paintings and photographs and hand woven metal, fused glass work and hot blown glass work. What a wonderful way to spend the day. There is such talent that comes to these shows. This event is ranked top of all art shows in the nation. Shouldn’t be missed. Rick and I bought these glass blown torsos that are so cool. The picture is of the one he bought. Solid amber colored glass on a bass. Mine is at least twice that size. Hollow and shaped from the inside and the outside. Close to the same color. I forgot to snap an image of mine when I unpacked it. I will post one soon though. Below are other cool things that were at the event, just had to be added for sharing. Saturday night Rick and I went to Vitro 2 Moda by SiNaCa Studios (http://www.sinacastudios.org ) for a Live Auction, Art Glass Sale and Glass Fashion Runway Show. They literally had a runway with glass art pieces that models walked down the aisle. Cool yet funny. Rick was live bidding on a unique under water scene lamp that was metal rods and leaves with fused glass bubbles and a light shining through it. Very Awesome. Maybe able to see some of the art on their site. He stopped bidding at $825. All the items for the live and silent auction were way under priced. That piece should have sold for $4000. It was worth way more than $825. Oh Well, great deal for that guy. I won a silent auction on a glass blown fish in a plant (like Nemo) for $300, again great deal. The glass and labor alone are more than that. Of course I didn’t get a picture of this one either so I will post it later as well.
