My Lil Grimlin

Well Beau (my foster dog) and I parted ways this weekend. While we are away or not paying attention to him we kept him tethered up near the side door of the house...it is the warmest and least breezy spot and he had plenty of room to move between the rug at the door or into the grass. He liked it, he was with the other dogs but out of the way of being bothered by them. Well we finished a movie the other night and I went out to get Beau. He was not there; he had pulled out of his collar (with my number on it) and then wondered off. I have posted signs, and been to the local shelters. I am going to call to clinics in the area. I hope that a wonderful person took him in, thought I was a bad person, and will give him a nice/good home......... I had this picture cause he never would let me get a good one of him and I think he looks like a grimlin!

Pistol Packin' Perfection!!!!!!!!!

Rick and I went to the shooting range Friday. It was my first time ever to shoot a pistol. Rick used to shoot all the time... awhile back. So after a few minutes of lessons from a trainer I left to be dangerous all on my own. I WAS AWESOME!!! All my bullets hit the targer. YIPPY! All bullets landed within good distance from each other. WONDERFULNESS! I got an A+ on my target. BAD TO THE BONE!. We are planning to go again this week sometime... Hopefully Rick and I won't realize how busy we are and not make it. I ROCK WITH A PISTOL IN MY HAND!

Dangerous Diva

So if you haven't heard me compain then you get to hear it now. I absolutely hate being home alone at night... It's mainly only when I know the person that should be there won't be home for a week. The sun goes down and I get the hibbi jibbies.... So Rick and I are looking at getting consealed handgun licenses...actually mainly just getting me comfortable using a handgun. We go in on Friday for my first round... They also offer Dangerous Diva courses 1 sunday a month.. I might try that too.... I love being around spunky divas...

WISH HIM WELL!!!!!!!!

A friend of the families’ cancer has return. Maybe 5 years ago he had surgery which successfully removed his cancer at that time. Now it looks like it is back and in full force. They just found out it is large then they expected it runs from his neck to the top of his breastbone. They also noticed a spot on his lung, and are now running test to check his bones and his eyes. He is complaining of pain behind his eye. He is only about 28 years old. I hope he pulls through but it is not looking good for him.

TALENT SHOW

Went to Rick's family reunion over Labor Day weekend where the Luepke’s had a talent show. Rick and I sang a duet then I sang a Reba McIntyre song along with Rick as my backup. Very few people were paying any attention to the talents until my sassy song came on…Guess it was that bad. J/K. We had a great time. Glad we got up to sing. Rick bought an amp so we can sing at the house. I bet we will drive Nick crazy........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ...TOOOOO MEEEEEE.....

Rick is so awesome! I get to celebrate my birthday two days in a row...SWEET!!!! Yesterday he made me a cake and gave me one of my gifts. Its a hand blown glass piece that symbolizes companionship, two bodies twisted together.... and I don't mean twisted like wacko....

Then he and Nick sang to me and I blew all my candles out in one breath. YAH! Today I am celebrating the big 30! Jamie even decorated my cube at work in "OVER THE HILL" high fashion. I am lined with streamers and balloons. And a wonderful cake with strawberry icing...YUMMY!

Diversity Week

Work is having a Connect and Engage Week to show our diversities and what our talents or hobbies are outside of work. So Rick and I submitted a huge display. Well work won’t let us show any castings below the neck. That so takes away from our abilities. We even tried to only show a male upper torso and the legs walking through the wall with a skirt on it. They still denied us. So Rick sent them an email about art and how one the most beautiful art form is the human body and that if that is offensive to anyone then they will be shocked when they walk into a museum or look into a mirror when in the undress at night.

Ft Lauderdale Florida

I am way past due on posting our trip to Florida. It was awesome. We had an ocean and pool view, we were right on a private beach. Ate at the Bearded Claim, did everglade tours on airboats and held Snappy the 3yr old alligator, and a dinner cruise through millionaire row....... but the best of all was the dinner at Lips Restaurant where drag queens serve you dinner. So much fun. Their names were Twat LaRouge, Misty Eyes, Chocolatte, and Nicolette. Each Queen changed outfits about 4 times and sang and dance on stage for us. In one of Nicolette's costumes she came out as my twin. Can you tell us apart?

MIRROR! MIRROR! ON THE WALL, WHO'S THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL

Snow White! Snow Ball! Snow Baby! She may have gone by many names but she was my sweet girl. Well SW found herself a permanent home Friday afternoon. The family drove from Denton after work with their Argentino Dogo just to meet SW. The two Dogo's got along great. Rick even had to come say good-bye to her and approve the home she was going to. (He has never done this before, but then again he has never bonded with any other dog I brought home before). We are so happy that she is going to experienced owners that are excited about training a deaf dog. They were already discussing what signs to use for different commands. I miss her but I am so happy for her too.

OMG! Nick came running to Rick’s bedroom door about 4:00am Friday morning yelling a coyote got a hold of one of the baby goats. Rick went to the field and brought back Zarina and laid her in the workshop. She had bite holes around her neck and a huge chunk of meat missing from her back leg, along with multiple bite marks down her back and on her beautiful ears. Rick took a wet rag to her to clear away the blood and check her status. She seemed to be basically okay. We let her sleep in the workshop the remaining of the time and checked her in the morning. She was in such shock and so soar she couldn’t even walk. Rick carried her out to the field with the other goats to spend the day. When we got home later in the day she hadn’t moved and she was lying in an ant bed. Rick took her into the shower to get her all cleaned up; put ointment on her wounds and bandaged her up. Then we treated all the others with ointment too. All the goats had bit marks down their bodies and on their beautiful floppy ears. It’s a debate but we think it was a dog. A coyote would have done it for the kill, the food and only take on one. A dog is in it for the chase, the game and takes on who ever runs. Well Zarina was in shock but by the time we left town Saturday she was looking better. She is much better today. Now Rick’s dogs get locked in the run with the goats every night to guard them. They are better, but when Rick let them out to the field this morning they looked skittish and keep an eye on the direction the animal came from.

SNOW WHITE

she is so cute...............

GOIN' TO THE CHORUS

Saturday Night Rick and I went to Sarah's Chorus show. It was awesome. We both just loved it. The first half was 50's and the second was patriotic. The patriotic made Rick a bit teary eyed. They had a men’s group come sing with them and they sang all the military (??) anthems and had each person stand when theirs was sung either if they served or had family. IT WAS WONDERFUL and inspiring!!! So Rick and I dressed for the 50’s portion. Rick wore rolled up jeans, black dress shoes and white T. I had on a pink poodle skirt, white T, pink scarf, white ankle socks and black swing shoes. SO MUCH FUN! I love dressing in costume. Some people thought I belonged on the stage since I was so dressed up. Then after the 50’s show they did a stroll and some of the ladies created a walk through and you had to dance through them. Rick and I of course participated and we danced our way through. So I was told if I could sing as well as I could dance they wanted me in the chorus…. Too bad I don’t sing well, it looks like a blast.
During one song a guy came out riding a stick horse and wearing a purple hat…. Pretty funny. The video is attached. Not sure if you can see Sarah in it, during that song she was in the back right of the video. I have also included other images from that night. My camera and I didn’t agree on picture quality that day….

THE TWINS

So my mom was in town this weekend for a grandkids ball tournament. Rick and I stopped by to eat dinner with them Saturday night. I mentioned when I first but my hair I looked just like her. Well, Rick took a close up. I dont think in this pic we look identical but I know we do in person.

So one of mom's grandkids wanted to leave the resturant so we told him if ask the bar tender "What is on tap?" we would leave. SUPER CUTE! the guy just smiled and ignored him.

Stone Head Is Growing

Rick's Easter Island Head is now 7 feet tall. Next he will be sculpting the large eyebrows... SO COOL!

My Newest Fosters

My newest fosters are Bullet and Snow White. They are so cute, but what a handful. Bullet is a 4 month old lab and Snow White is a 2 yrs old Argentino Dogo (breed to hunt mountain lions). She likes to smile

MY FOXY FOSTER

My newest foster dog looks like a fat fox. He is still young but seems to be very well behaved. BTW! Sitting between the door and the cooler was his doing not mine. There was plenty of space in the back seat. He was just a bit scared, I think that confind space made him feel better.

I HAVE A DECK!!! NANANA BOOBOO

I am so excited by Saturday night we had completed the deck and pergola. It looks so awesome and I just can't wait to sit back and enjoy it. Sunday we took a much needed day off and just ran a few errands and hung out. IT WAS GREAT! We finally got my house all cleaned up of tools and mud, which was driving me nuts. So the only thing we have left is to haul in dirt, level the yard, place the sprinklers in flush with the ground. Once the ground is settled then lay in the grass seed. I AM GETTING SO GIDDY ABOUT IT ALL BEING DONE....YIPPY

ALEX MAY HAVE A NEW HOME

Alex was adopted last night on a trial bases. He will be living in a big house, with a big yard and another black male lab to play with. I will miss him, he was such a lover.
As of last night the deck is frame, inspector gaget has approved it's foundation and its almost done. Rick took the day off work to put hours into it. He going to try and finish the deck today and start on the pergola. If Nick, his son, gets off work early he plans to stop by and help. In that case I will be coming home to a huge suprise. I am so giddy I just can't wait. Rick says by Tonight I should be dining on my desk and my Sunday night I will be resting under my pergola. Next weekend we will finish the yard.....AND HOPEFULLY BE DONE!!
