LANDSCAPING

I will start supplying regular pictures of my new landscape job on the back yard. So far we have taken down a telephone line which we had to call in for repair, well the number we used sent out an SOS to all companies in the area and my ground is now lable for all electrical, water, sewage, gas and telephone and anything else we might dig into. FUNFUN!!! So Rick has been working on installing the retaining wall and I have been digging trenches for drainage. As you can see some of the rocks we are working with are very large and have to be removed from the earth. The final product will be a level yard, with good drainage, a deck, with shed and pergolla..... I CANT WAIT.....

EASTER ISLAND IS OUT OF CONTROL

Rick started building his own easter island head. The first, experimental, version was to be about 5 feet tall. NO WAY! its final size will be near 8.5 feet tall. This thing is sculpted from foam then will be covered with concrete and placed on his land with a light signing on it. It will be awesome! I think it would be great to have one for my yard..... the front of course... He still has to finish the ears, nose and eyebrow. What he is copying is below.

Vampire Dance

Rick and I finally had the time and energy to go to another social dance at LMRA. So much fun. The theme was Movie Melodies...........as you see we fit right in. The best part was when Rick's previous girl had to dance with him during the Waterfall dance, dance with everyone, she walked past and said "I will not dance with him.." SO WONDERFUL! She obviously holds a grudge.

Cheese Heads

Rick just loves cheese and I think he always craves it. Well now he has to fight for his cheese beause Kraven loves it too. What a pair. Kraven will bat the cheese out of Rick's hands or ...shh...off the counter. The other day he got a meatball too and rolled it around on the floor making a huge mess. Rick complains about it but he still feeds Kraven human food. Kraven is as bad as a dog. We watched a movie the other night and Rick had to keep his hand on his plate because Kraven was batting at the cheese and crackers. He is so bad. BUT SO VERY CUTE AND CUDDLY!!!!

Adoption Weekend

Wow, what a day we had at our adoption Saturday. It started to rain Saturday morning, we had about 50+ pets needing homes and the CASA van that carries our shelter dogs would not start.
Will this many animals were in desperate need of a really good event, with lots of people. Lucky we had enough volunteers show up to haul all the shelter animals in by car and enough volunteers at the event to help set up.

By 2pm when the adoption was over very few animals had been adopted. Then everyone showed up and now we have 23 of our pets enjoying their new families tonight (that's 17 dogs and 6 cats)!

Also, 13 other dogs got adopted this past week. So the week that started so horribly with way too many pets in the shelter, has ended on a much brighter note. We had about 5-6 kittens and 14 puppies at the adoption. So glad it turned out well.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED WE ALWAYS NEED HELP!
EVEN IF IT IS JUST POSTING THE ANIMALS ON THE INTERNET.... NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE FOR THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS...

THE WORLD IS A JUNGLE GYM

I think they have already doubled in size since they were born. The goats are getting super playful and now climbing on everything, including us. Rick made them a tire pyramid or goat gym to play on. Now they chase each other around the fence line, twice around the tires, then over the gym and back down the fence line. They are a blast to watch and we can see them from the dining room. If you sit on the tires then you are the new highest point and they try to jump onto your shoulders. On the video pay attention to: Zulu first spring boards over Rick's back then rolls into the space between his legs and gets stuck and can't get over....I'VE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP...They are not content to just make it to the top. They have to then jump around and then jump down and kick their legs out. Yesterday was the first day they went out into the grazing area with mom. Well they had the greatest time.. .. In the bush…out of the bush….in the bush…. They were too cute. Sage (donkey) was not too happy about them in her space and had her ears back and charged them. Lucky we had our eye on her and scolded her for it. A few more trips out there for them and she will be adjusted. They just don’t know to watch for her. She is kind of crabby sometimes especially with new creature on her land.

Rango May Have A Home

Well Thursday @ 8pm Sarah and I dropped Rango off at hopefully his new forever home. The guy is keeping him for the week on a trial run but as already gotten him groomed and bought him a kennel. That is a good sign. HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT FOR RANGO!!! He was a handful but I will miss him.
